The History

Honestly, I think I have tried anything and everything under the sun to lose weight and get to an ideal body fat percentage. I'm not there, I'm not done. I have been a member of Weight Watchers and things like that. Just take a look at my enormous book shelves and infinite supply of reading related to health, fitness and nutrition - and weight loss - and exercise - and everything in between.

Presently, I am active on a website called SparkPeople .... it is very helpful for community and online articles, recipes, etc. I also use another website called MyFitnessPal to track my food and exercise. My username at SparkPeople is HealthyHabitGal and my username at MyFitnessPal is HealthyHabitGirl. I like both sites, but probably like SparkPeople more, as I have met amazing people there. I also am a big fan of Dr. Oz and his outlook on well being. Additionally, I am reading a book called 'Made to Crave' by Lysa TerKeurst. This is helping me with the mental/spiritual side of it. I cannot do anything without God's help, and I am leaning on him to get me thru this challenge. I honestly believe that in my prayers for wisdom and guidance, he has been preparing me for this, and led me to this place .. and put people in my path to help me.  I am also now reading a book by Joyce Meyer called 'Living Beyond Your Feelings'.  It is awesome.

Via SparkPeople, I ended up meeting another group of souls I affectionately call the Fab Fit group ... you know who you are. These people have inspired me and led me to a philosophy I am embracing somewhat - a philosophy called Clean Eating. I am now reading books by Tosca Reno, and her premise of the Eat Clean Diet -although the word DIET is misleading because it is really just a lifestyle.  I am also active in a Facebook group called Bodyfit Fitness ~ An Ongoing Journey.  It is wonderful.  I love it.

As for ideal eating habits, I am not there yet - not 100% anyway. I am learning and taking baby steps. This idea I have, this blog and this 300 day challenge, is my attempt to get me there. I honestly believe that the Eat Clean Lifestyle is the way to go, and the only way I'll ever be free of my demons and at my ideal body weight. However, I cannot fully embrace the lifestyle until I can expand my diet, try and add more things to it - and eliminate the things I believe are toxic. I've come a LONG way in eliminating things, but have more to go. It is my hope and intention (goal rather) ... that as I add in more and more of the GOOD stuff, there simply will be no room for the bad stuff.
